Focus RV Group refurbishes caravans, motorhomes and pop-tops at our Campbellfield workshop in Melbourne's north. The work ranges from light interior refreshes (new upholstery, curtains, flooring) through to full structural rebuilds where we strip the caravan back to the chassis and rebuild from there. We're set up to handle older Australian-built caravans, vintage rigs, and modern caravans that have suffered water ingress or accident damage.
For Melbourne owners, the rebuild-vs-replace decision is usually about the chassis. If the chassis is sound and the underlying structure is salvageable, refurbishment generally costs less than replacing the caravan and gives you exactly the layout you want. If the chassis is rusted out or twisted, it's usually better to put the budget into a replacement. We do this assessment up front so you make the call with the facts in hand.
This page covers Melbourne-specific information about our refurb service. For the full breakdown of scope tiers, room-by-room rebuild detail, the refurb process and indicative timelines, see our main refurbishments page. Read the full guide
We work across four scope tiers, from cosmetic refresh through to full structural rebuild. Each tier has its own typical budget range and build window. Most Melbourne customers come in for a Mid-Level or Full refurb.
Cosmetic refresh: upholstery, curtains, flooring, paint and minor cabinetry repairs. Suits caravans that are structurally sound but tired-looking. Typical build window 1 to 3 weeks.
Cabinetry replacement, kitchen rebuild, bathroom upgrade and partial electrical or plumbing work. Suits caravans 10 to 20 years old that are otherwise sound. Typical build window 3 to 6 weeks.
Strip-back interior rebuild, complete fit-out replacement, new appliances, full electrical rewire and gas certification. Suits older caravans being kept long-term, or caravans heading for the Big Lap. Typical build window 6 to 12 weeks.
Chassis assessment, body framing, roof or wall rebuild on water-damaged or accident-affected caravans. Includes timber framing replacement, sidewall reskinning and roof reseal. Build window depends on damage scope.
Most refurb customers come in from across greater Melbourne. Larger jobs (full and structural rebuilds) keep the caravan with us for several weeks, so transport-in is a one-time exercise.
Campbellfield, Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Epping, Mill Park, Thomastown, Roxburgh Park and Coolaroo. Most northern suburb customers are 5 to 20 minutes from the workshop.
Brunswick, Coburg, Preston, Northcote, Fitzroy, Carlton and the Melbourne CBD. Hume Freeway access from the inner north makes drop-off straightforward.
Box Hill, Doncaster, Footscray, Sunshine and Werribee. Most eastern and western customers reach us via the M80 ring road in 35 to 50 minutes.
St Kilda, Brighton, Bentleigh, Mentone and Frankston. Southern customers travel via the Tullamarine Freeway or Eastlink, generally 45 to 60 minutes.
Bring the caravan in for assessment. We open up the trouble spots (under windows, around the rear lower corners, the wet floor of the bathroom) and confirm what's worth saving and what's better replaced. The honest version of this conversation is more useful than a generic quote.
Fixed-price written quote against the agreed scope, with optional design recommendations on the larger tiers. Where the eventual scope depends on what we find on strip-down, we quote a contingency range and explain how it works.
Drop the caravan for the build window. Most partial and mid-level refurbs run 1 to 6 weeks. Full and structural rebuilds run 6 to 16 weeks. We send weekly progress photos so you can see the work as it happens.
Final test, gas and electrical compliance certificates where applicable, written workmanship guarantee and a walk-through of every refurbished system. The caravan leaves road-ready.
