What Caravan Warranty Repairs Are (and Who Can Do Them)

A caravan warranty repair is work on your caravan or RV that's covered under the manufacturer's factory warranty. The warranty period varies by brand and by model, but most new caravans and RVs carry a structural warranty of several years and a shorter warranty on appliances and fit-out components.

Warranty repairs have to be carried out to the manufacturer's standard using genuine parts, and the work has to be documented through the manufacturer's approval process. If warranty work is done outside that pathway, the warranty can be voided. That's why warranty repairs should only be carried out by an authorised agent for your brand.

Focus RV Group is an authorised warranty agent for multiple Australian caravan and RV manufacturers, including Windsor, Apollo, Winnebago, Talvor, Thetford and Coromal. Authorised status gives us direct access to genuine parts, manufacturer technical specifications and the factory approval process, so your warranty stays valid after the work is done.

Caravan & RV Brands We're an Authorised Warranty Agent For

Authorised warranty agent status covers the brand, not the point of sale. If you bought your caravan from another dealer, interstate, or privately, we can still carry out warranty work provided your brand is one we're authorised for and your warranty is still in force.

Windsor

Authorised warranty agent for Windsor caravans, pop-tops and hybrid caravans. Direct manufacturer parts channel and full compliance with Windsor's technical specifications.

Apollo

Authorised for Apollo motorhomes, campervans and rental-fleet RVs. Regular work on ex-fleet vehicles after the warranty period is transferred to private owners.

Winnebago

Authorised warranty agent for Winnebago motorhomes and luxury RVs. Genuine parts sourced direct from Winnebago Australia.

Talvor

Authorised for Talvor motorhomes, slide-ons and campervans. Full documentation through Talvor's warranty submission process.

Thetford

Authorised service and warranty agent for Thetford caravan and RV appliances, including toilets, fridges and cooktops across the full Thetford range.

Coromal

Authorised warranty agent for Coromal caravans and RVs. (Confirm exact product scope with client.)

What Typically Falls Under a Caravan Warranty

Warranty coverage varies by manufacturer, model and year. The categories below describe what's typically covered on a newer caravan or RV, but always refer to your original warranty document to confirm scope and cover periods.

Structural and Body

Manufacturing defects in body panels, roofs, floors, framework and sealing. Most manufacturers offer a structural warranty between 3 and 7 years. Water ingress caused by a defect in factory sealing usually sits under this coverage.

Electrical Systems

Factory-installed 12V, 240V, charging and appliance electrical faults. Warranty periods usually run 1 to 3 years depending on brand. Failures traceable to a manufacturing defect are covered; wear-and-tear is not.

Plumbing & Water

Pumps, pipework, tanks and taps fitted at the factory. Warranty usually covers 1 to 2 years on plumbing hardware and longer on fixed tanks.

Gas Systems

Gas lines, regulators and factory-fitted gas appliances. Gas-specific warranty periods apply to compliance components.

Appliances & Componentry

Fridges, cooktops, air-conditioners, microwaves, TVs and audio-visual fitted by the manufacturer. Appliance warranties are often separate from the caravan warranty and run for 1 to 3 years.

Chassis & Running Gear

Factory-supplied chassis, axles, wheel bearings, brakes and tow-hitch. Structural warranty periods usually apply, with shorter periods on bearings and brake components.

Warranty coverage varies by manufacturer, model and year. Always refer to your original warranty document or confirm with the manufacturer before assuming coverage.

Why Warranty Customers Choose Focus RV

Factory-Approved Pathways

Authorised agent status means we have direct access to the manufacturer's warranty team, parts channels and technical support. Claims move faster because we're part of the factory's approved network, not a third-party workshop submitting from the outside.

Genuine Parts Only

Warranty work requires genuine parts to keep cover intact. We order direct from the manufacturer, not from third-party suppliers or aftermarket catalogues. That means the warranty stays valid and the part carries its full replacement cover.

Full Documentation

Every warranty repair is documented to the manufacturer's standard. Photos, fault descriptions, parts used, compliance sign-offs and technician details are all recorded so your warranty paperwork is complete. That matters at resale and at any future claim.

Brand-Independent

Authorised status covers the brand, not the dealer you bought from. You don't need to drive back to the original dealer for warranty work, and you don't need to settle for a general mechanic who isn't authorised.

How a Warranty Claim Works With Focus RV

1. Confirm Your Warranty

Call (03) 8383 1026 with your caravan make, model, purchase date and a description of the fault. We'll confirm your caravan is within warranty and your brand is one we're authorised for. If you're unsure of the purchase date, we can check against manufacturer records.

2. Manufacturer Approval

We submit the fault to the manufacturer's warranty team with photos, technical details and our repair recommendation. Approval is usually confirmed within a few business days. If the manufacturer needs additional detail we manage that back-and-forth.

3. Genuine Parts and Repair

Once approved, we order genuine parts direct from the manufacturer and carry out the repair to factory specification. Most parts are in stock or arrive quickly through the authorised parts channel.

4. Documentation and Hand-Back

Full warranty paperwork is completed and you receive a copy with your repair records. Road test on completion and a walk-through of the repair before you drive home.
