Caravan Servicing for Melbourne Owners

Focus RV Group services caravans, motorhomes, camper trailers and campervans at our Campbellfield workshop. Annual servicing covers brakes, bearings, electrical systems, gas appliances, water systems, seals and structural checks. We also offer focused pre-trip inspections, brake-and-bearing-only servicing, gas and electrical compliance work, roof reseals and pre-purchase inspections.

Melbourne caravan owners run on a few common service cycles. Pre-Easter is the busiest service window of the year as families head north to the warm weather. Pre-winter is the second-busiest as retirees and grey nomads head north for the dry season. Late spring and pre-Christmas are also high-demand as customers prepare for summer coastal trips. We recommend booking 2 to 4 weeks ahead of these windows to lock in your slot.

This page covers the Melbourne-specific side of our service offer. For the full breakdown of what each service category includes, recommended service intervals and indicative pricing, see our main caravan service page. Read the full guide

Caravan servicing for Melbourne at Focus RV workshop

Caravan Service Types We Offer

Annual Service

Comprehensive annual maintenance covering brakes, wheel bearings, suspension, electrical, gas, water systems, appliances and external seals. Most caravans should have a full annual service every 12 months or 10,000 km, whichever comes first. The annual service is the single best way to avoid mid-trip breakdowns.

Pre-Trip Inspection

A targeted inspection before a long trip: brakes, bearings, tyres including the spare, gas leak test, electrical system check, water and waste leak check, awning and external item check. Pre-trip inspections take less time than a full service and are ideal for owners who serviced annually but want a final check before the Big Lap, Cape York or a long coastal trip.

Brake & Bearing Service

Standalone brake and bearing service: brake adjustment, magnet replacement, brake shoe replacement where needed, bearing repack or full replacement. Brake performance on a heavy caravan is the single biggest safety factor at speed.

Gas & Electrical Compliance

Gas leak test, regulator service, RCD test, 12V system check, full electrical inspection and compliance documentation. Useful for older caravans, after any system modification, or when selling a caravan and the buyer wants the documentation.

Pre-Purchase Inspection

Independent pre-purchase inspection on a used caravan you're considering buying in Melbourne. We inspect structural integrity, water damage indicators, electrical and gas systems, brake and bearing condition, and overall roadworthiness. The report is yours to use in price negotiation or to walk away.

Roof Reseal & Leak Check

Full roof and external sealant inspection, replacement of tired sealant, water-ingress test and any associated repairs. Sealant typically needs replacement every 3 to 5 years and is the single most important preventive maintenance task on a caravan.

How a Caravan Service Works

1. Booking

Call to book in advance. Pre-Easter and pre-winter service slots fill 2 to 4 weeks ahead, especially for customers who want a same-day turnaround. We confirm what type of service you need at booking.

2. Drop-Off & Inspection

Drop the caravan in the morning. We work through the service checklist, taking photos of any items found that weren't on the booked scope (worn shoes, perished belts, sealant cracks).

3. Service & Reporting

We complete the booked service, replace consumables, and call you with a quote on any additional items found before doing the extra work. Most additional items are quick fixes and worth doing in the same visit rather than a follow-up booking.

4. Pickup & Service Report

Same-day pickup for most services, including a written service report listing everything completed and any items recommended for monitoring. The report goes to you for your records and is useful for warranty and resale paperwork.

Our Slide Out in our motorhome broke just after Christmas (a bad time to break down). Paul and his staff were amazing - going out of their way to get parts and worked overtime to see that we were back on the road ASAP. Highly recommend this company.

We wanted to convert a van into a RV, a dream to eventually travel Australia. We eventually emailed Focus RV just to see if our dream could be built. Paul worked with our ideas and some of their own suggestions and came up with a final figure. We decided on that day to start our project. Ihsan and the team are fantastic. Not only did they work within our budget, but their attention to detail and workmanship was outstanding. If anyone is thinking of a van conversion, these guys are the best. Their professionalism, advice and suggestions exceeded our expectations and nothing was impossible to achieve. Highly recommended and you will not be disappointed.
