A caravan fit-out is a targeted upgrade on an existing caravan, campervan or motorhome. The scope is usually narrow: replace a kitchen, upgrade to lithium, add a diesel heater, convert a dinette to a bed, install a solar array. Fit-outs are about improving a specific part of the van without rebuilding the whole interior.
That makes fit-outs different from two other services we offer. A campervan conversion is a full build that turns a delivery or passenger van into a camper from scratch, with every system designed in. A caravan refurbishment is a broader rebuild that usually touches multiple rooms and often strips back to the shell. A fit-out sits in between: more than an accessory install, less than a full rebuild.
A fit-out is usually the right choice when you know the specific change you want (a new kitchen, a bigger battery, a proper sleeping arrangement) and the rest of the van is in reasonable condition. Lithium battery bank (size to suit), DC-DC charger install, solar array upgrade on the roof, battery monitor and switchboard upgrade. All work certified by a licensed electrician.
Full replacement of interior lighting with 12V LED. Dimmable zones, task lighting over the kitchen and reading zones, and USB outlets built into the lighting circuit. Typical power draw drops dramatically.
Smart TV install with proper mounting, audio upgrade, antenna replacement, reversing camera install and 4G booster options for remote-area connectivity.
East-west to north-south bed conversions, bed base rebuild, mattress upgrade and dinette-to-bed conversions for extra sleeping capacity. Popular with families upgrading from couple-sized setups.
Made-to-measure cabinetry for specific gear (dog crates, tools, musical instruments, medical equipment), work-from-road setups (desk, monitor mount, ventilation) or accessibility needs.
Diesel heater install (Webasto, Autoterm), air-conditioner replacement or upgrade, 12V roof fan upgrade, and insulation packages for all-climate travel.

Lithium, solar, 240V and LPG work is signed off by licensed trades on site. Compliance certificates are included with the fit-out and handed over at collection.
We scope the fit-out around how you actually use your van. Full-timers need different battery sizing than weekenders. Remote workers need different lighting than retirees. We ask the questions before we quote.
Every fit-out starts with a scoping inspection and a written quote. You know the scope, cost, parts and timeline before any work starts. Variations are agreed in writing before the invoice changes.

Itemised quote covering labour, materials, systems and timeline. For cabinetry or room-level work we include a layout sketch so you know what the finished space will look like. Nothing starts until you approve.
Work happens in the workshop. Most fit-outs run 2 to 4 weeks depending on scope and whether we're waiting on any long-lead parts (lithium, specific appliances). Progress updates throughout.
Electrical and gas sign-off where the fit-out involves either. Road test if the upgrade affects weight or braking. Walkthrough on collection so you know how every new system works before you drive home.
Our Campbellfield workshop is the fit-out hub for Melbourne customers. Most fit-outs are completed with the caravan in the workshop for 2 to 4 weeks, so drop-off and collection logistics usually only involve one trip each way. Regional and interstate customers deliver at the start of the build and collect on completion.
